Kerry Logistics has acquired Nine to Five (9-to-5), a food catering brand, from the Jardine Matheson group, to expand its existing food trading business in Hong Kong. The acquisition will complement Kerry Logistics’ food trading and logistics businesses by increasing market share and enhancing coverage and competitiveness.
Established in 1991, 9-to-5 is one of the top 10 largest school meal service providers in Hong Kong, in terms of the total number of student orders. Currently more than 10,000 meals are served each day to primary and secondary schools.
The acquisition includes a 18,500 sq.ft. Food Production Centre in Tai Po, where meals are prepared for schools and other catering services in Hong Kong. Kerry Logistics is committed to supporting environmental protection and uses ‘recyclable’ lunch boxes. The company’s food catering operations are ISO 9001:2008 accredited and HACCP certified.
