On 5 September, Kerry Logistics won the “Freight Forwarder of the Year” award at this year’s Payload Asia Awards 2012 in Singapore. It is the first time for a Hong Kong logistics company to win in this award category in an international competition.  

William Ma, Managing Director of Kerry Logistics Network remarked: “As we actively take forward our international expansion strategy, the international freight forwarding (“IFF”) segment demonstrated strong growth in the first half of 2012. IFF turnover rose 41% year on year during the period, reflecting both positive market momentum and our dedicated efforts to grow this segment. The winning of this major award in IFF comes as another strong encouragement to our team.”  

The Payload Asia Awards are organised by Payload Asia Magazine, a recognised voice of the air freight industry in the Asia-Pacific region since 1985. This year, more than 30 corporations compete for the awards and winners were selected by a panel of distinguished judges comprising Asia’s leading supply chain academics, leaders and customers.  

Kerry Logistics is the first Hong Kong logistics company to win this international award facing off a strong competition from a group of finalists that included other leading global logistics companies.  

To win the Freight Forwarder of the Year award, Kerry Logistics has to satisfy the judges in a range of stringent criteria including demonstrating the company’s global network and coverage, growth and development strategy, operational performance in year 2011, customer service and product innovations.
